Aphthona flava Guillebeau, 1894 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) is recorded from
Poland for the first time. This species has been collected in four regions of south-eastern
Poland so far (Małopolska Upland, Lublin Upland, Sandomierz Lowland and Eastern Beskid
Mts.). This is the twenty-first representative of the genus Aphthona known to occur in the
territory of Poland. It has been found in the summer months only on spurge (Euphorbia
cyparissias L.) which is one of its known host plants. In our country it has been caught only in
warm habitats such as psammophilic and xerothermic plant communities. The habitus, habitat
and the male terminalia are illustrated.
