Abstrakt

Excessive application of synthetic fertilizers through soil degradation depletes it into many micronutrients. In addition in such conditions, nitrogen-rich compounds, as proteins and secondary metabolites, such as alkaloids, but less phenolic compounds, triterpenoids and other valuable bioactive substances are formed in plants. Therefore, the content of important for human health micronutrients and other bioactive ingredients are drastically low in food from intensive farming. Chronic illness has been identified as a major diet-dependent problem. It has been proven that organic farming provides higher plant health.
