Wykorzystanie dzika europejskiego (Sus scrofa L.) w krzyżowaniu towarowym (Utilization of wild-boar (Sus scrofa L.) in commercial crossbreeding)

Abstrakt

Hybrids after Duroc and Hampshire sows crossbred with wild boars (groups I and II) as well as Polish Landrace fatteners as a control were used in the experiment. Animals were kept from 25 kg to 70 kg of body weight and fed with a full-dose mixture according to their requirements. Fatteners’ slaughter value was evaluated after the slaughter according to SKURTCh methodology. Results were statistically processed using SPSSPC software. Hybrids wild boar / Duroc were characterized by the thinnest backfat (1.0 cm). Hybrids with wild boar share had a smaller sirloin “eye” area comparing to control group. The total weight of middle neck and shoulder was higher in hybrids. The weight of sirloin and ham achieved from fatteners with wild boar share was lower as compared to control group. Lean percentage in total sirloin weight ranged from 53.26% in wild boar / Hampshire hybrids to 57.75% in pure breeds. Lean content in ham from carcass with 50% share of wild boar was lower by 4.3% as compared to control.
